Failures

We all endure failures and sometimes its unpredictable, but what do you do when you put in 120%   of effort and still end up failing?I tend to sit there baffled... attempting to re-calculate where I could have gone wrong. Then there's the blame game, the  "its their fault, I could of, would should of" etc. And sometimes yes, sometimes that is a possibility. Either way, I personally have learned to take failures as a learning experience.Yeah, I did not get the grade I intended/hoped for or that internship ,but I learned so much in the process.Sometimes we fail in what we wanted to succeed in and we think "we just wasted our time". In reality, sometimes our failures teach us new skills, and experiences about life  that we will be able to use in the future. So, in reality we did not 'fail' completely. Our failures can be used to educate others. We can also reference them when we have to make other decisions.Next time you think of failure try making a list of all the positive you gained from it in the process.

How to read a boring text for class

In college, sometimes the professor might assign really dull reading materials or something we have no interest in. Nonetheless, we still have to take and pass the class. Here are some tips on reading:

  • Read in a quiet room/area with no distractions comp, phone etc
  • Sometimes motivational music or study music helps (search on youtube)
  • Read in chunks-have a timer ex:40 min reading 15 min breaks
  • Highlight (not everything , I know some people do that) , take good notes, underline you dont want to have to read a boring text twice. Its torture!! Anyways, happy reading!

Childhood memories.

Sometimes I wish I was younger, when life was so much simpler. I remember when we use to trade candy like NoworLaters, Starburst. My mom would hardly let me eat candy and when she did it was a treat! She would always buy us Sour Power from after going to buy groceries. My siblings and I would  compete  to make the  worst sour faces because the candy taste sour then sweet. At the local corner store, it was like limited edition to find the blue raspberry flavored Sour Power. When someone brought that to lunch everyone would ask for some.  Ahh... the  memories.... What are your favorite childhood memories?

New Year,New you?

In church we are focusing on a new series. Our verse of focus is Mark  2 :18-22. In summary, what I have interpreted so far, if you  want to progress/grow this  year, you can't do the same old things you did last year.It is important to create long term and short term attainable goals.

  • surround yourself around positive people.Negative people will only bring you down. That means getting rid of those negative people in your life. People who only tell you condescending comments, have no goals, or have no intentions of  enhancing their lives for the better do not need to be in contact with you everyday.Slowly, weed them out...
  • Be positive and  believe in yourself. Know that you can and will achieve whatever you set your mind to doing
  • Take things one day at a time, don't try and rush things
  • Document your progress to remind yourself of how far along you are.
  • Have daily reminders somewhere whether that be a picture, quote, or article.

What will you accomplish this year? What will you do differently this year?
